Hello I m having a hard time getting my essentially new Glowforge to work. When I turn it on it says it bumps into something. I have checked it and I can’t find anything.
Things I have done:
Checked all areas of material. Nothing is off the honeycomb
Tried moving the bar forward, it feels stiff and not as easy as I know its suppose to be.
used an aircan to spray in hopes that it would dislodge something.
i think its the rubber track I just don’t know how to troubleshoot it.
Welcome to the forum.
With the machine off, does the printhead glide smoothly all the way from the left to the right? Does the carriage arm glide smoothly from the front to the back? If not, remove the honeycomb tray and put a mirror on the floor of the Glowforge so that you can visualize the wheels and belts as you move the carriage plate and arm.
Has this behavior been present since the day you set up your machine or did it start recently?
Did all of the above and nothing works.
Carriage arm slide smoothly but it requires a little bit of force.
Just started today
With the machine off there should be no need for force. The two belts move over the tension wheels and the arm wheels glide on the rails. Inspect everything closely to see why there is resistance. Is it equal resistance no matter where the carriage arm is front to back?
