Glowforge seems to be adding fills to everythimg on new projects and previous projects (that used to print OK).
When I upload a project it looks fine until I change the default “Cut” to Engrave, and then all the text and all the shapes get filled.
And when I go to print, the estimated time is like 57 minutes - should be 4 minutes.
Change that cut to score. Engrave is a fill. Score will do the outline.
Alternatively, if you are planning to engrave something, you can convert it to a bitmap/raster image and what you see is what you will get.
You didn’t mention what software you’re using, but if it’s Adobe Illustrator, I have a video on this topic:
I need to make a more generic one that’s just an recruiting pitch for the Church of Always Rasterizing Engraves. In any case, the same technique is applicable anywhere.
I’m new to this and that was the answer Thank You so much
Thank you - I’m New to this and I have been using inkscape but it’s been crashing a lot so I’m thinking about using Illustrator,
I’ve Looked at Illustrator a few times and it is daunting, do you know any good tutorials for using Illustrator for Laser Printing?
