Glowforge Pro will cut and score, but laser not firing on engrave

Sorry for this being long, but wanted to get all information out there. My glowforge pro is several years old, but has not been used a lot. The other day, it stopped firing the laser. I replaced the red wire yesterday with the wiregrass repair kit. Everything was working. I was running some test engraves last night and this morning. The laser suddenly stopped firing. I made some test cuts, and some test scores. It will fire on cut and score, but not on engrave. I changed laser power levels on all three actions. It still fires on cut and score, but not engrave. I moved the engrave area to the middle of the bed, since the travel distance while the laser head is changing directions can have an impact. Still no engrave. I haven’t changed the original file or anything. Everything works except engrave. When trying to engrave, the head moves like it should, but the laser doesn’t fire. I unplugged the glowforge for 10 minutes and tried again, still no engrave. Restarting browser doesn’t help either. I am out of ideas to try.
Forgot to add that the engrave file worked previously and I can still score it, just not engrave.
Thanks

OK, so it appears to have something to do with the file. The engraving is nothing but text I created in the GF interface. I created some new text and it will engrave, so I am going to try to remake my first file and see it that works.

An important point. The text fonts were not originally created for Glowforge use, so all fonts will not work work the same and some not at all. I suspect that overlap of some letters keep them(In that font) from engraving at all

I could see that, but it worked 7 times before it stopped working.

I just deleted the text and typed it over again. I don’t remember the original font, but the new one engraved, so I will just go with it.
I really don’t know why it the first suddenly quit working.

Im not sure about the font issue, but alot of times im having issues with no engrave is because i have duplicate files stacked on each other without realizing it. I usually check to see if i have a duplicate by ungrouping my entire file in the interface and clicking one element that won’t engrave and deleting it. If it looks like it’s still there, then i know it was duplicated.

Any time you have an issue like that, just print the Gift of Good Measure on a piece of scrap - even a piece of a shipping box ((just select 1/8" Corregated Cardboard as the material).

If it prints, the problem is with your design.

Thanks for all the help. But the issue was, the file was working. It was words on a Christmas ornament for the church. I engraved 7 of them, then it suddenly stopped engraving. I wish I could remember which font I used, but I just re-typed the words in a different font and it worked. Finished them all last night.
