Sorry to say, you cannot do that in the GFUI…it’s something that you’ll need to do in an external design app like Inkscape or Illustrator.

If you have Silhouette Studio business edition, you can do it there. It’s not called “Weld” in any of the other big software packages, so I’m assuming you’re familiar with Sil Studio.

There is a sort of work around that can work using the outline command. If your text and stick are in place you can make a zero (or more) offset outline of the parts. once the outline is made even if you delete parts the outline will still keep the base path and the result will be similar to the weld you are looking for.

If I have a shape and I want to add a loop for a pendant I put a large circle on the top part way into the design and make that outline path. Then I can make the circle smaller and I will have both the inside and outside of the loop.

If you’re using the premium tools this is very similar to how you make a cake topper. It is very much possible to do this and it’s via the outline tool. It is a lot simpler to do it using a third-party editing tool like inkscape or illustrator or affinity or even silhouette… But this document might get you going in the right direction
