My machine was working perfectly fine and then all of a sudden when I was about to print something, the yellow light came on. The yellow light came on when it tried to focus. I followed all the support instructions and it is still coming on. I use my machine as a hobby so it is not very dirty at all and prob has only had like 150 print jobs. Since none of the troubleshooting helped, Glowforge just wrote and said it was an electrical failure. Which is weird since the machine turns on, fans work etc. They just sent me a link to buy a new one and referred me to an outside source to fix it. I am frustrated since they did not even explain the reasoning or anything. Has anyone this problem and fixed it a different way?
I’d trust them here that it’s some sort of electrical fault. They probably referred you to wiregrass, they are very well regarded for their customer service and thorough explanations. Here’s a discussion about what it’s like to work with them:
I’d call them and see what they have to say; they may have a simpler solution to offer.
