I have created an svg cutline in Illustrator, and when I place the artwork (printed on A4 card) into Gowforge, into which the cutlines will be cut, it is just 2 vertical cutlines in the artwork; Glowforge gives message “no artwork”. Can anyone explain this?

The image you uploaded above is too large to fit on the printable area of the glowforge as oriented.

or you have some random part of the design that is out of the printable area.
in other words. you have a nice square in the print bed, but unseen is some random letter A far off the edge in any direction. will give that error.
how to find that is zoom out on what you’re working on and “select all” and suddenly you notice some highlighted nonsense far away from your main art work.
