My husband wants to know if I can engrave graphite- about 1.5” thick. He saw the titles on carbon fiber, but this is a solid graphite block.

Good to know.
I would worry about graphite inside the glowforge because if it does engrave it might eject particles and because graphite is conductive it could cause some problems in the machine or even destroy it.
I know they aren’t the same. But that was the only thing that even looked similar.
