Help! Engraving Question

I have cut a piece of jewelry and want to engrave on the back. I thought I could just write on the masking of the cut out piece put it back in the machine and then engrave what I have handwritten on it. Can’t seem to figure out the steps to make this work since it isn’t really artwork that I am copying.

You can, but you are going to have to use the trace function.

The easiest way to take any handwritten or drawn image to engrave is to use the Trace function, as others have mentioned here. If you follow the link @eflyguy mentioned, you will find a tutorial that will walk you through this process. Simply place artwork in the bed of your Glowforge, click Trace in the Glowforge App, and enjoy bringing your hand-drawn creations to life.

I am going to close this thread. If you have any other questions or concerns feel free to reach out to us at support@glowforge.com.
