Help with crest conversion to a design

I’ve been asked to create a plaque using a shoulder flash as a logo. Been trying to create a reverse image in black and white to enable engraving on Coated aluminum. The color is the original and the black and white is what I want but the lines aren’t crisp and reflect the thread from the crest. Anyone have ideas or can help with making it a crisp design.

So that black and white is already pretty crisp. What exactly are you trying to improve in it?

Ah wait ok I see what you mean.

So in a case like this, do they have a website that has the logo on it? It might be easier to start with a digital asset and it would be to start with the patch. Part of your issue is that you have a fairly low resolution image to start with and a textured object… Getting that to be a clean vector will be challenging.

Here’s the best image that they were able to provide. Thank you in advance for your help if this works out.

Try Google’s nano banana. Upload the image and say how you want it modified. In general it’s great about leaving the specifics intact!

And Bob’s your Uncle! (The rest of the prompt was “Maintain content accuracy”)

And here’s what it did with your color source image:

Look above, there are two variations with one matching your b&w version.

Also there’s about 100 ways you can invert a file on your own.

Pine tools if nothing else.

I made items for an organization and at first they gave me a jpg but then I asked if they could provide a vector file and it took them a bit to find one. They finally find it after tracking down the files from the person that created their logo and sent them all the assets.

I’d double check with them that they don’t have a vector somewhere.
