You didn’t say which machine you have but the wsy you search for them is like this:

https://community.glowforge.com/search?q=Honeycomb%20pins%20%23free-laser-designs

“Honeycomb pins” and then use the advanced options to limit it to the first post and in free laser designs. You find it there in the third post for the performance models.

First off, welcome to the forum! If you right-click on the image @eflyguy’s post, you can “Save Image As…” to where you want on your computer. This is the one used for the premium GF models. I think they’re too tall to use for the Aura and Spark. But if you just do a search for “hold down pins,” you’ll find what you need.

And right-clicking on any of the drawings in the Free Laser Designs will allow you to save it to your computer so you don’t have to look for it every time. Just remember that any free design is to be used for personal use only (for your family or as gifts) and cannot be sold, either the design or the product you make from it.

Thank you …! I decided to nosedive right into the big one. We have the Pro HD. I’m not the best with computers and my husband tries lol … I’m learning and having fun with it through videos and asking LOTS of questions. This is way more exciting than a Cricut, although they can work together as far as designing.
I really appreciate that this community is so helpful,

If the bits are disconnecting - highlight them all and hit Control-G (or right click and Group) - then copy a few and line them up, then select all of those and copy a few times and line them up - etc. You probably don’t need more than ~8-12 to start. You can cut more when they eventually start wearing down
When I made them I took a piece of plywood scrap that was 90% used and fit individual ones into each nook and cranny. Don’t waste good material making these!

BTW, if you haven’t - go through the First Prints section. You’ll come out knowing SO MUCH MORE about your machine

and if you come up with questions - do a search here, and on the support pages - but then just ask. There are lots of us here and we’re mostly helpful!

Thank you  .
I have tried a few things on my own, still a little questionable. I think I will take your advice and just try things from the first prints for now. I don’t get as much time as I would like to play with my new toy just yet, there is definitely a lot of trial and error, and I’m totally okay with that. As I learn the yeps and nopes I know I’ll get better at it. For now, I’m enjoying learning how to use the machine :upside_down_face:

Welcome to the forum!
With those pins it is important what thickness material you use so it is best to make a couple and try them out. I have on occasion used a sanding stick to take off the corners to get a pin to fit better.

I often use up scraps of material to make up more pins. I have a small box (that I used a box generator and cut from a shipping box  ) on the machine full of them. Any kind of ply, from 1/16-5/32" work fine. No matter what they’re cut from, I have to sometimes reposition or rotate them to get a good grip.
