House. Identified!

Let’s hear it for practical-cuts! My sister just moved into their new house and it doesn’t have any number…and while the USPS didn’t have any problems the less regular delivery folks were having a really hard time.

Masking, the in-app text generator, and some spray paint later, voilà

I love quick projects that just work out (unlike the ones that you think will be quick, then 3 hrs later..). This is so simple but adds great visiblity!

Great use of your Glowforge! Practical is always my favorite project to do.

Easy to see, bless you. I can’t tell you how often I’ve gone up and down a street looking for numbers.

That’s great.

anyone else tried a similar project with something like this?

Yes, but was not impressed. I ended up buying highly reflective tape and cutting that instead.

Looks great! I need to do that for our mailbox. We have the 3” ones that we bought at the hardware store, but the numbers are fading and we need to redo them. I thought about using the ones like we have on our boat (a little tougher vinyl), but I actually want them bigger, like 4” instead of 3”. Great inspiration, thanks!

Ooh

Awww :frowning:

Was it fiddly instructions or just didn’t live up to the hype?

I think it would be better on bright surfaces but I found anything lit up at night was just fine if simply white anyway.

Nice! I always like a stencil project.

For sure. Thinking about the construction of reflective materials. I am dubious about spray on vs specifically manufactured.

It’s crazy how reflective technology has grown over the last decade.

Haha got stuck in the YouTube rabbit hole. This one was fun and simple. Though a few years old.

Good video. Glad you found it and shared it. The spray definitely isn’t worth it! I think I had the same result (didn’t do what it said it would do) with “Glow In The Dark” spray. Bummer. So guess I’ll have to look for some reflective white vinyl (using my Cricut to cut it) for my mailbox. Thanks!

A comment on that video led me to these, they’re made from 3N DG3 which is what actual street signs use in many places.

No idea if they’re laser safe, but cricut safe is a much easier bar to get over
