How do I use the square tool in glowforge software to make a rectangle?

How do I use the square tool in glowforge software to make a rectangle. When I enlarge it - the square just keeps its properties.
I want to make a tag. Thanks in advance if anyone knows how to do this.

Unlock the aspect ratio. It is the little symbol inbetween the width and length in the measurement tool.

Welcome to the forum. Draw your square. Select it. Select the measurement tool (the little ruler icon) Click the unlock aspect ratio.

If you’re eyeballing the resizing, just clicking and dragging, holding the shift key while doing so temporarily unlocks the aspect ratio just for that movement.
