The app does not give me an option to Weld Shapes when creating a design. If I import the design it doesn’t engrave because the lines are not thick enough.
Any insight?
Put an outline around it and cut that, or use a real design app that does support merging shapes.

Yes, I’ve created it in Illustrator and photoshop, however when I import it the lines become too thin for the Glowforge to Engrave.

Maybe you could try to “Score” them instead?

You’re probably using a thicker stroke in your design. The Glowforge software ignores stroke width for vectors, so you either need to convert that to a filled outline in your design software, or follow the always rasterize engraves philosophy.
