They just closed our schools in SC. With King Tides and rain…we might have a little flooding.
First feeder bands came through Orlando a couple of hours ago, winds gusting and some rain, but it doesn’t look like we will fare to bdly with this one. Sending prayers to all in her direct path. As @chris1 said,
In Miami we had some strong gusts and heavy rain, but the worst is over.

Looks like it will go right over me. Hopefully landfall will diminish to category 1. Gonna be wet and windy. No long engraves for me in the next few days.
You are right in the path, here’s hoping landfall quiets it right down and quickly.
Looks like you get your wish… Idalia is forecast as a CAT 1 when she gets to you.

It slipped by to the north and pretty uneventful here. Power flickered briefly, and a little bit of wind but nothing serious. No good stories to tell, but everybody safe

SMH here we go again! As far ahead as Nullschool can look, it could be a fish storm or anywhere on the East Coast. but Cat 3 to 5 in any case.
The green ring to the center is 16hours to hint speed and direction.
They are calling it Lee but hoping it is not Sheridan.
The models are all aligning to a fish storm that might hit Maine or Canada in another week. They’re not quite sure about Bermuda yet.
That is certainly the hope and ideal, The beaches north of you might be offering the best if not the safest surfing in years. But out more than 4 or 5 days and low probability events are not impossible.
Meanwhile my Colorado self here wanting to avoid ANY of these storms. hahaha
Here in SW Missouri they are calling for severe storms and tornadoes tonight.
