Yep. This is why I’d prefer to see the replacement boxes and foam pieces sold separately rather than bundled together on the store.

How do you ship the foam? It doesn’t collapse or mesh together well.

Even when the box is destroyed by UPS the foam will most likely remain intact and reusable. (If not you’re looking at replacing the whole Glowforge, not just the packing materials.) So people may very well need to buy new cardboard but not need to order the foam as well. In that case sending the box folded flat would work fine.

The foam is pretty resilient, and survives well as opposed to the box. stuff it in a bag and evacuate the air. :grin:
