I hit print, Glow forge starts the printing motions but laser does not start?

Not sure what is going on the GF isnt saying there is a problem but when I hit print the laser doesnt come on. The head moves but nothing happens. Any ideas?

  • What material are you working on?
  • Are you engraving, scoring, cutting?
  • Is it only one job where you have this problem, or multiple?
  • Have you validated that the power levels are more than 1? If you are using manual settings, you might have inadvertently chosen the wrong power level; I’ve done it more than once.

Printing on bass wood was printing 4 of the same thing and on the third one is when it happened. The machine is seeing that it is there but its like the laser is not on

Do you have 2 copies of the design stacked together?

Not that I can see

Did you confirm that the settings are not 0 power?
(others have done it  )

I’m sorry your print didn’t come out as expected.

I took a look at your file in design software and noticed that the designs that aren’t printing have two layers that overlap. Your Glowforge won’t print overlapping vector designs.

Try removing one of the layers and printing again.
