Illustrator keeps saving as HTML when I try to save as SVG

I just upgraded my computer from Windows 7 to 10 and now using Illustrator 2017. I had no issues with my old computer and software converting illustrator files to SVG. This is my first in 2017

Each time I try it wants to save as a HTML file, it took me 10 minutes to figure out why Glowforge could’t accept the uploaded file

Anyone can help? Google comes up with code editing and other complicated ways to fix it which is a concern. I hate touching code to fix it but no idea why the software is doing this.

Are you using the export or “saving as copy”? Some screenshots would be helpful to understand the issue.

I was always saving as copy before I upgraded. Exporting did work! I’m wondering why though?
