Yeah, i always use Australia Post and yet some complain about them endlessly, i have nothing but praise for them.
On the other hand we had a Starttrack Courier drop off some FRAGILE stuff to me once. My office in the old house was facing the street. I saw him pull the package out DROP IT on the ground to use it as a backing for his paperwork and then wander over to my front door and throw it on the decking!
When i opened the door to give him some good’old customer feedback he literally panicked and ran to his Van and screeched off…
Hi Ade,
I agree with you…if I hadn’t gotten the up front discount I would have gotten the Laguna tools laser. It is 5K and they have a good reputation regarding their tools. The muse is also interesting because of the rotating fixture it has. The Glowforge cameras are great, but the muse also has a camera. The software on the forge is great, but Laguna and the muse could match features at some point… after all software can be upgraded. Look at fusion 360 there is a free app that runs inside it that converts DXF to SVG. I found that today should be interesting to try.
while the laguna may be nice (i have no real knowledge of it), i urge you to check out all the reviews of the muse to date. they’ve been…not amazing. it might become a great experience some day, who knows, but it doesn’t seem to be there yet.
Hi jrnelson,
Yeah I saw the reviews, but if the hardware stays solid then it just a matter of software and that could be a real competition. What Glowforge hasn’t done is move this into another manufacturing environment which I think is perfect for the software. The waterjet ( WAZER for instance) or for use on a plasma cutter. Both are flat cutting environments and the drag the image over the material and cut would be oh so cool on either one of those platforms.
That would be awesome. But can we let them get their backlog of GlowForge and filter orders shipped first before suggesting that they work on other projects?
Actually I wasn’t suggesting that they work on another project. In fact if they just keep it in mind then what they are already doing may just slot in (oh sorry had to slip that in there… did it again) were was I oh yeah… if the software is planned with that in mind then moving it over when there ready would be maybe not easy but less dreadful.
