Inconsistant rubber stamp engraving

Around 8:00 pm MST on May 22 2024, I started a series of prints to engrave a rubber sheet with 8 copies of the same image for rubber stamps. Each image uses the same settings, and each is cut one at a time.
The first 3 stamps were fine, on the right side of the sheet, but when the print head moved to the left side of the sheet, midway through the image it suddenly started burning the rubber with a darker color and the cuts were no longer as deep. There is a definite line where it suddenly changed the depth of the cuts.
I’ve cleaned the lenses and everything appears normal. This is not the first time this has happened either. We’ve had a couple of instances just today, and it’s happened before where mid-print it suddenly changes depth.

Why would it suddenly start leaving a darker color and less deep?
Thanks.

It could be residue as rubber leaves a lot, but most likely you have something on the mirror under the left edge…maybe even something that was deposited by the rubber.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve left a message for them as well, but last time I messaged them, I got no response. Yes, there is a lot of residue, but it still does this after ensuring the lenses and mirror are clean.

Can you take a photo of that mirror and post it up here - sometimes we see things that folks don’t at first.
