Inkscape stroke width

I have seen a discussion here on the forum about Illustrator stroke but don’t find anything about Inkscape.

I have difficulty in seeing the strokes in the GFUI and I am wondering if my stroke lines are too narrow. I presently have them at about .01 in.

I can run some tests myself but I was wondering if anyone can tell me how wide I can make my strokes in Inkscape without widening the cuts on the GF?

Or what is the typical, standard stroke widths when designing in Inkscape for the GF?

The Glowforge ignores the stroke width on vectors and cuts down the middle. Make it as wide as you want for visibility. Make sure you set Inkscape preferences though to measure the object from center of line rather than width of the stroke though.

I do appreciate the challenge of seeing thin strokes though and I have widened them on a occasion for visibility.

I set my strokes to 0.1 inches all the time with no problems.

It makes the designs easier to see when designs are posted in the forum as well as in your library.

0.1 inch stroke doesn’t work well with an object such as this that is .25 inch total height.

I have always set it at 0.100 pixels and color it red to mark it as a cut line. Hard to see on the screen unless you magnify it. I haven’t really had a issue with width.

I have been unable to find this in the Inkscape preferences. Can you point me to the right boot (that has the instructions on the heel)

Here you go!

You’re welcome!

Holy crap you can do this? Ugh I’ve gotten so used to the wrong measurements that I don’t know if I can change. Ugh, decisions.

I use Inkscape. Generally, I set mine to .206 mm (your .01 in = 0.254 mm) and I have no problems seeing it in the GFUI. If you’re only cutting one thing, and it is small, perhaps the issue is that it is small and is being displayed to scale in the GFUI?
