iPhone dock

There are many laser cut iPhone stands, but rather fewer docks. This is my first attempt at one.

It’s not perfect. Insertion works well because the lowest segment of the cable block has a backstop etched into it to a depth that works for my phone and case (100% precision power at 50 speed gives a little over 1mm of depth in maple plywood). But removal is a problem, not only because the whole thing is light but because the plug hole doesn’t provide enough clamping force to keep the cable from pulling out the top. I’ll have to come up with some way to adjust the clamping, which will also remove the need for the routing geometry in order to mount the cable.

Any suggestions?
