For the wood tone colors I prefer minwax.
Vararthane has some good colors but I hate their cans as they are so cheap the crumble on you and you can’t get them closed after a few uses.
My new favorite however is PureColor stains, great colors and excellent packaging which makes it easy for small jobs.
