My carriage belt has come loose. I have tried the fixes found on the website, and even tried a 3mm hex key. It seems like it will not loosen and the hex key slides around in the socket. Never had this happen or needed to fix this before.
The post the belt goes around on the right side slides left and right. Sliding it to the right makes the belt tighter, to the left makes it looser. The hex key just holds that post in place, so you only ever loosen it a tiny bit, and tighten it a tiny bit. Loosen it too much and the screw will fall out and be very difficult to get back in. If the hex key is sliding around and not turning the screw, then it’s probably not the right size key.
