I’m super awkward when it comes to compliments so thank y’all for all of the positive feedback. It somehow feels more genuine? or valid coming from other makers. I really had a fantastic time making all the pieces and it’s funny because I just see all the flaws and things I want to improve. :joy:

We all do. That’s why we are our own worst critics. Others have no idea where your vision diverges from the reality of the build so they can objectively evaluate things. It’s head & shoulders above typical commercial stuff and folks recognize it.

We’re better off pursuing our vision but putting the tools down before we’re crazy from chasing perfection :grinning:

Yes! I often spend way more time on designs than I need to trying to perfect them. My husband constantly fusses me for getting too detailed or fixing/reprinting things most people won’t see. But I know it’s there so that bothers me. :joy:

Not sure how well you can see them but I decided to engrave the little post caps with the Hogwarts crest and the houses. :joy:

At first I thought they were white M&Ms

That’s a great detail that helps elevate the project. Details are okay to fuss over. But if your alignment was a mm off between different ones, that’s when obsession takes over  People will notice the caps but not the mm alignment difference. They’ll just be gobsmacked by the fact that the caps are engraved.

Wow! Please tell me the couple appreciated your work! Fantastic job.

BTW: I believe the “Leaky Cauldron” sign has “Daigon” instead of “Diagon”…

It does. I immediately noticed when it was finished but she didn’t want me to reprint it so we just carried on.

Apparently I was tried when designing a few pieces. I did reprint the care of magical creatures because Hagrid had two Gs and I couldn’t take that misspelling. She again told me it was fine but that one I just couldn’t handle. :joy:
