Johnson plastics laserable brass plates

Well, I would hate if it was easily damaged in cleaning; and, long-term, plaques and awards can get moved. But, I was asking because there are many other uses for these and I was curious how well they would stand up to abuse.

All right. 3 years later and now with an 80 w CO2 laser I can tell you that the best settings for engraving these plaques is actually low power high speed and many lines per inch. My current settings with my 80 W co2 are as followed:

Power = 15%
Speed = 500mm per second
1000 lines per inch

This gives me very crisp line work and engraving. With very little to no overburn. Buy overburn I mean the laser can be so hot That the engraving kerf is much wider than desired and leaves way less material behind.

A quick few swipes afterwards with a magic eraser and it’s perfect!
