It really is your preference. I had a Mac in college and was all about Mac. I then got a windows after college and mainly used that. I recently got another Mac and am trying to traction back to it but I do tend to use my windows more.
I have had a lot of people ask me about how to get the glowforge to work with a tablet. I always direct them to the forums.
In the end, my main recommendation is to pick whatever you are comfortable with.
And yes, there is a fun sense of humor on the forums. Never take anything personal. Itâs hard to be creative when taking things personal and not just have a fun perspective.
I am an Apple junkie and 99.9% of the time I use my iPad Pro with the Glowforge. Like you I also have a Glowforge Pro.
I find with experience I am quicker while using the iPad Pro.
There is one negative. You will need an external keyboard. Glowforge recently added copy, paste, group, ungroup, etcâ to the interface but it is still glitchy.
Here is lots of valuable information for you.

I use an iPad Pro (with pencil and keyboard), a MacBook Pro and Glowforge Basic (my GF is an amateur ).
I am an Apple fan boy and have been from the beginning (full disclosure : I am long on APPL stock). I wonât use anything else. There are times when I stumble across a glitch with the GFUI and Apple, but Apple products work seamlessly together. I can take any project with me anywhere I go and still be able to tweak a design or create a new one.
For software I use CorelDraw on my Mac and Affinity Pro, Photoshop, Snapseed, Illustrator and Procreate on my iPad.
