King Tut Earrings

My love for Egyptian history inspired me to make these earrings. I took a trip to the King Tut exhibit today that’s touring in a nearby city and came home and made these. They are made with 1/8 birch plywood and paint pens. I has a little mirrored gold acrylic left so I made a pair in that as well.

Nerd time: can you see his name in the hieroglyphs?

I really like the mirrored gold acrylic pair, although I tend to love anything Egyptian.

I spent three days at the King Tut exhibit in Seattle in 1978 and was fortunate enough to see the gold mask from the sarcophagus before they stopped sending it out of Egypt. What a moment in time that was. These are nice remembrances for you and fun mementos to make. I especially like the mirror acrylic.
