For all those who have had their tubes die…what signs were there? Our GF is needing much much slower speeds to cut through (all happened fairly suddenly this afternoon) and I notice the purple zapping light inside the tube is now white - not bright violet at all.
I did do a 10 hour 30% power engrave last night - could that have something to do with it? 4 hour engraves are a bit normal for me.
It is running every day, normally about 6-8 cumulative hours a day, and is just over 3 years old (only really started using in earnest since fall last year…2020 f-flake, etc - before that, it was just a hobby.)
All lenses and mirror are clean, exhaust and air assist are clean, calibration has been run and dimples are free of debris.
Thoughts?
Trevor
Does anyone know if anything came of this?
My first guess would be that after a 10 hour engrave your machine needs a cleaning, but you said you’d done that.
Even running 8 hours a day 365 days a year, you’re still barely at 3k hours on your machine and they are expected to last close to 10k (unless your hobby usage in the year before was WAY more than your current usage)
That being said they have been unable, so far, to send a tube home. They are still offering the $500 for replacement and shipping that they promised up front, but AFAIK only a few people have had to take them up on it.
You’ve opened a ticket by posting here so a staff member can take a look at your logs and see what’s up - but you’re going to want to print the Gift of Good Measure using PG settings on a piece of PG material to verify it’s not cutting through when it should. Once you do, add the time and pictures of the front and back to this post.
