Leatherette Stink SOLVED!

I printed a bunch of leatherette pieces for a make and take art project. I wanted to make sure they didn’t smell. I tested many options.

The best by far is “Soak.” It is a product used for gently cleaning yarn. I mixed some with water, put my pieces in, swirled it around, waited about 15 - 30 min, rinsed and individually laid the parts flat to to dry. Pretty much smell free after that. I made about 200 pieces.

Here is a link to the stuff: https://soakwash.com/

I’m sure it’s on Amazon, too

Happy Forging,

I have been engraving and cutting some new leatherette and don’t find that there is much of an odor. I have only tried leatherette from three different sources, but have never noticed smells. Thanks for the tip in case my next vendor’s product has this issue.
