It actually looks a bit brighter in the picture than it is in reality. I’d say, maybe a little too bright for a night light. But, the led strips are easy to dim with a dimmer. Also, I recommend people get the waterproof LED strips. They have a silicone covering. Even though LEDs are typically not very hot, the silicone layer keeps the batting from coming into direct contact with the LED. I originally tried the non-waterproof LEDs and didn’t feel comfortable with the heat they were giving off when I touched the actual LED. That said, I still wouldn’t want the light on for long periods of time, especially when I’m not home. You can feel some warmth, but not much.

Reading on my phone I could only see one photo at a time. My journey scrolling through them was like this:
- hmm, don’t know what I’m looking at
- ok, cool base I guess? still don’t get it
- oh, I see. that’s neat
- OH. Holy sh$@ that is COOL
Well done

So the effect around the LEDs is cotton? Cool
It’s actually Poly-fil. Same stuff used in stuffed animals, pillows, cushions, etc.

Even better
It brings out the kid in you! I love it!
My son just finished that same Lego kit, any chance you can share the design files so I can make a similar base?
Just a gentle reminder that asking for files is against forum rules.

Sorry, I didn’t realize that.
