I went to make some magic on my Glowforge and I hear a rather large cracking sound. I stopped immediately and reviewed the situation, it would appear the the back right corner of the lid is not longer attached to the hinge, the adhesive must have given out. That said it’s not fully detached which might have been a better situation, at least I’d be able to attempt to reattach. Of course as a founding member I’m out of warranty, what should I do?
You’ve opened a support ticket by posting here, support can only recommend you send it in for repair, or search for the many existing discussions on this topic. They can’t suggest a specific repair for liability reasons.
I can give you permission to glue it back together yourself. It’s not a repair we support, so I don’t have any specific advice.
If you’d prefer that we repair your unit, we are happy to do that.
I’m running into the same problem, right back corner also a founder. Bad batch early on?
