Liquid problem when unboxing

I received my Glowforge Basic yesterday.
Upon unpacking, there were traces of liquid on the machine and the plastic packaging, but apparently nothing significant. After unpacking and setting it up, a problem appeared during the first test.
It seems there isn't enough liquid in the tube (not just a few bubbles, but a significant lack of liquid).
What can I do? I'm desperate.

Contact support. Phone, chat, or email. They will most likely want to swap it out.

Hi @aureliegpa If you have a ticket number created, feel free to let me know. I can check in with our Support team members to let them know you’re located in France, so they can be aware of the time difference.

Double checking. Is the machine giving you an error, or are you just worried because the liquid looks low?

If it’s the latter, you should go ahead and start up and see if the machine gives you an error. The liquid in mine is noticeably lower than it was ~8 years ago, but it runs just fine.

Also, it’s now the weekend so you’re very likely not to get an answer until they’re back in the office. Sometimes that’s not true, but don’t expect one

There’s a chance it’s fine then, since it would give you an error if the laser got too hot (the liquid keeps it cool)!

So. Start from the top.
Load up the Gift of Good Measure
Put a piece of material in
Set up the job until right before you hit the button on the laser
Take a screenshot of your interface showing everything from the name of the laser on the top right, to all the commands on the left side.

It should list the material name at the top.
The commands should show engrave, score, and cut (not numbers) and on the right it should list a time of just a few minutes.

Then hit go on your laser.
*If you can record a video with sound even better . You’ll have to post it to another site (vimeo, youtube, etc.) and then post the link here.

Post the screenshot and a picture of your completed print.

Fingers crossed!

It looks like it cut one copy of the Gift of Good Measure. That is a good sign. We need to see the settings on your interface. None of the videos show the settings.

So it shouldn’t look like this:

The settings should look like this:

Those are the settings for medium draftboard, so they should work for most materials - at least they should be causing the laser to fire.

Yes, but anytime you’ve gone out of the PG settings (even if you think they match) it’s not a good QA of the issue.

These are Proofgrade. I simply clicked the operation to reveal the actual settings for medium draftboard.

My pro has a reservoir in the front left corner for distilled water. Not sure about a basic.

Welcome to the forum.

The coolant is more than distilled water, and the basic machines do not have the reservoir.
