Normally I would look at this and think “oof, smoke marks, shoulda masked it.”
In this application, though… maybe they’re not so bad. In any case, it’s a cool design, specific aesthetic choices aside.

when i think “live hinge” and “lamp shade,” i tend to think “horizontal.” so it was nice to open this up and see vertical.

My mind says “tropical”, maybe because it looks a bit like wicker? Way to lean in to the bends, it’s great!
