I am looking for a way to convert a design for a different thickness of material say going from 1/8" to 1/4"
You’d have to manually edit them, depending on how it’s made size wise you might need to scale it up or down too but here’s a few examples in a video I made of edits, if it helps:
Assuming you’re not using Proofgrade material which has settings for “thick” (1/4") sheets, just test until you find settings that work for what you are using.
There is no uniform “conversion” because cutting 1/4" is a whole different ballgame, so to speak. For many materials, it really pushes the limit of what the machine can cut.
Go to MakeCNC.com then select the tab for “software”. Scroll down to “3D Scale Calculator”. It cost $5 and only works on PC, not Mac, but it is terrific. Watch the video . Very easy to convert to any size.
