If you have the premium you certainly can, if not, doing it in Inkscape is not much harder.

I’m trying to figure out inkscape for the first time…why is there a square in the middle?

That square is your art board - if you click Ctl-Shift-D and make it 20" x 12" then wherever you place your art in Inkscape it’ll appear exactly there when you upload it to the dashboard.
You can also save it so that’s the default anytime you open Inkscape by clicking File > Save Template (and then set it as the default).
