Uber-geeky computer lingo – if you have SUDO privileges on a system, you can do anything on it.
sudo (/ˈsuːduː/ or /ˈsuːdoʊ/) is a program for Unix-like computer operating systems that allows users to run programs with the security privileges of another user, by default the superuser. It originally stood for “superuser do” as the older versions of sudo were designed to run commands only as the superuser.

What I’d always heard is that men’s buttons and buckles and such are designed for right-handed people to fasten themselves. Women’s are designed for their (presumably right-handed) servants to do for them and are thus backwards.
This article includes that idea, but also quite a few others about why it might be.
