More last-minute ornaments

Angels and mistletoe, oh my!

BTW, loving the new Light Plywood. Cut both 5" ornaments in 5 minutes. :sunglasses:

You got a thickness measurement on that?

Avg 2.74 mm without masking (2.73 to 2.75 mm across the sheet)

Nice! I haven’t tried that material yet, do you think it has a Balsa core?

I’m not sure. I peeled the cherry off a scrap:

The grain looks right, but it feels stiffer/denser than the balsa I’ve used for building planes and German pyramid blades. Could be the adhesives used, I suppose. Now where did I put that mass spectrometer???

Dan has stated that the new stuff as well as 1/4" plywood has a hardwood core.

That angel is gorgeous!
Well, they both are, but the angel is my favorite.

Here is some interesting information regarding the classification of hard or softwood. It can be counterintuitive.

“To classify a wood as hard or soft depends on the seeds that the tree produces. A wood will be classified as a hardwood if the seeds that the tree produces have a coating.”

" … balsa wood is classified as a hardwood and yet it’s one of the least dense and softest types of wood."

So technically Dan is correct - even if it is Balsa. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I love the new light plywood also! It cuts so cleanly and so fast.

This reminds me that I should order some more while it is still on sale…
