"Morse Code" after head returns to home

My Glowforge makes morse code like noises when the cutting head returns to its home position after cutting. Specifically a series of 3 click/thunk noises, followed by 3 click/thunk noises of a different tone, and then a final series of 3 click/thunk noises identical the tone of first 3 click/thunk noises.

Is this normal?

I sent this question to support about a week ago, but haven’t heard anything back. I’m hope someone on the forums can confirm whether this is normal or not.

Is there a getting to know your glowforge guide that state what noises and behavior are normal?

Normal. Head motor (lens) hunting.

Mine does that too.

Mine always does it right before the cooling down period ends. I’ve started listening for it as an audio cue that it’s time to fish my project out of the machine.

Mine plays “Shave and a Haircut” when it finishes printing and calibration. Once you hear it, you can’t un hear it.
