Made this for mothers day, for the catalog idk mothers day is a weirdly difficult holiday because most of it represented with flowers, so I really had a hard time thinking outside the box.

My 12 year old niece “commissioned” me to make an idea she had for a gift to her mom on Mother´s Day 2024. I felt honored that she would entrust me to make something worthy of her expectations.
translated to English it reads:
“Mom
You are the piece that binds us together…
Mom, thank you for making me so happy, I love you very much.” Signed and dated.

I copied, engraved and cut (independently to reduce kerf) the 3 central pieces with the names in 1/16 clear tone wood ply for contrast, and later positioned and glued on top of their corresponding position.

and the top Mom text was cut in 1/8 metalized acrylic and glued on top.
It was FedEx´d to her dad´s office so he would have it framed in time for Mother´s Day.
