I created a grid of circles that I want to engrave at different setting to get different effects. I did think within the app. They are all one when I try to change the settings. How do I get them to have different settings.

Welcome to the community. Unless you can create them in a different stand-alone app, you will be unable to do that within the GFUI. The Glowforge recognizes certain steps by color. In a stand alone app, you would create different circles to have different settings by giving each one of them a different color designation.

Actually, you can do it in the Glowforge interface. Just copy the item (right-click, copy), then paste as new step (instead of the standard paste).

Oooh…my apologies. I was wrong and learned something myself. I didn’t even know about pasting as a new step. Thanks for the correction.

It’s one of those things they added later on, at the same time as cut and paste with the right click menu. That’s the problem with being an old timer (I’m one too!)—they’re always adding new things and I don’t always keep up. Just happened to stumble across this one.
