I engraved bread once. Tasted horrible. Not remotely like toasted bread, but exactly like ash.

I did not notice any change in taste at 800speed, 40power. Maybe it was not burned enough.

Yeah… I did mine a year ago. Before they introduced low-power settings. So mine may have had some extra burniness.
