Need help removing persistent N50 calibration offset after PSU replacement

Hi all,

I’m hoping someone here has run into this before.

A while back, I was working with Glowforge support on a positioning issue, and they added an N50 line to my machine’s config (my understanding is that this is some kind of calibration offset).

It turns out the root problem was actually a failing PSU. I’ve since replaced the power supply, and the machine is now mechanically behaving normally—but the offset from that N50 config line is still being applied.

The problem:

  • The offset is still active and affecting positioning

  • A factory reset does not clear this config value

  • Support previously added it, but I’m no longer getting responses (likely due to recent cutbacks)

What I’m trying to do:

  • Fully remove or reset this calibration offset

  • Restore the machine to true default positioning

What I’ve tried:

  • Factory reset (no effect on the config)

  • Power cycling after reset

Questions:

  • Is there a way to manually clear or override the N50 config?

  • Does anyone know if these values are stored server-side vs locally?

  • Is there a hidden/service-level reset that clears calibration overrides?

Any guidance would be hugely appreciated—I’m basically stuck with a working machine that’s consistently offset.

Thanks in advance!

You’re going to need to talk to support. Their preferred contact method is by phone, that’s where I’d start.
