How can one tell if their unit is refurbished or new? Is there any markings(stickers,code,etc?) Just curious…
There is no way to tell. It’s new if you just ordered it from Glowforge.
New units are tested and then cleaned up before they leave the factory, which causes a lot of people to think they got a refurbished unit.

I believe there was once an option to purchase a refurbished machine for a small discount, when they had them. You would know if that was the case.
Mostly, refurbished machines are offered when replacements or repairs are needed, as it results in you getting a machine back sooner.

New has been tested before sending it to you. Refurbished has been tested a lot more 
but may have visual blemishes.
