So I have a SVG file that looks good in inkscape. I have uploaded this file to the GF it shows up on the left side, but file isn’t showing up in the GF. This will be one of several questions I’m sure. TIA
It’s probably out of view. Try zooming way out and you’ll probably find it.
In future, if you design to an artboard size of 20” x 12”, this will stop happening.
Once you move your design onto the usable area of the Glowforge, select material and choose an operation, you will be able to clearly see your design.
I have tried that. This will be hard to describe. But when I see the file on my desktop, it doesn’t show the image… So I’m guessing that’s part of the issue. The other files that have worked fine I can see the image. Back to you tube.
HI @wuzworthit. I’m sorry to hear you’re running into some trouble with your design not showing when you upload it to the Glowforge app to print. I see that some fellow Glowforge owners have been giving some great advice, and I’ll be happy to join the discussion with any needed troubleshooting. To start, it sounds like it may just be the one design encountering this trouble, and feel free to attach a copy of the design file being used in your response. We can review that for any next steps. Also, if you’re seeing it on more than one design, let me know and we can take that into account with any troubleshooting. Thank you!
Welcome
Thanks for the replies. Last night I tried to use a image from the premium, it loaded and showed up, but I could not find it. This could be user error.
After you turn on the Glowforge and it goes through its homing/focusing/centering process, put a light colored material in the bed and wait for the scanning process to show it on your screen. Select an image from the premium images. After it loads, select a Proofgrade material - any Proofgrade material. You should now see the image on the bed, and an operation on the left of the inteface. Can you share a screenshot of what you are (not) seeing?
What browser and device are you using to access the Glowforge app?
Or hit Ctl (or Cmd) a - it’ll select everything on your desktop and put a big box around it.
I am using Safari as a browser. I will do a screenshot when it happens again. It worked fine last night… Go figure.
I’m glad you resolved it! I’ll keep this thread open a little longer please let us know if the issue happens again.
