Nodes in inscape and printing on GF

I drew an outline in Inkscape for my acrylic project for a outline cut. When I engraved/cut the project my cut made two cuts on the outline cut that was in red. when I went back into Inkscape I noticed that the cut line had two nodes on it outer and inner nodes. causing the GF to make two cuts. Anybody out there can help with this on why it turns it into two node? The blue pic is when I designed my project with 1 node. The red is after I printed the project on GF and it shoes 2 nodes. Anybody out there can help with this on why it turns it into two node? I would greatly appreciate it.

You used “stroke to path”, which converts the outlines of strokes into separate paths.

Ok Thnks, I didn’t realize I had hit that. Thanks again.

Thanks for the answer, @eflyguy! I’m going to close this thread - if the problem reoccurs, go ahead and post a new topic.
