Mildly a laser thing, I suppose.
A thousand dollar wheelchair with no power and no folding is not so much of a bargain. I have been looking for a while and most are Chinese, but there are many powered and folding under $1000.
There are a lot at crazy prices like $7000 or so but those are usually tricked out a lot.
Really? The ones I see are >1k after your insurance pays the majority…and few of those are as rugged as these.
I’d love to see other options!
I have no expertise here, but the article in the wheelchair magazine seems to suggest it’s well below the typical cost. Just a little skimming around, e.g., https://www.reddit.com/r/wheelchairs/comments/1789eti/what_kind_of_chair_do_you_have_and_how_much_did/ suggests that $3000-$8000 is not unusual.
Maybe you’re not talking about custom?
That may be the difference.
They are adjustable where it counts.
Thanks! My last two are probably expired.
double check. they’ve extended expiration dates on some of the tests. you can check online and see.
I’m going to avoid talking about the good or bad of this, but WOW what a visual (at the top you can switch companies)
Geesh. Even adaptive strollers (which can also be considered wheelchairs) like the one my daughter got when she was 3 are easily $1700-3000. And the one she just got is probably around $3000. (Previously Convaid EZ Rider and now Convaid Rodeo.)
Duuuuuude! Teeny tiny gears!!
That is sooooo cooooool! I love science.
Counterpoint:
Okay but how can a vacuum create a vacuum in a vacuum?
I agree. It’s not a great situation for a vacuum. It kind of … sucks.
Whoa. This guy manually matches a paint color. It’s cooler than it sounds.
:jawdrop:
First try too!
Wow, none of those colors he mixed looked green. I saw a white/pearl, mustard, a drop of sunshine, lots of dark stuff…and it all turned green!
He knows his paints, he has good color memory. Pretty impressive! and he makes it looks easy.
This is Megatron, my wheelchair accessible 2020 GMC Sierra Denali truck. It gets a ton of attention wherever I go, so I thought it was interesting enough to share on this thread. I’ve been full time in a power chair for a few years now, and hopefully will be able to continue driving for a few more. I bought the truck off the lot and had the lift conversion done by ATC Conversions. The best reactions are from kids! I’ve thought about keeping transformers stickers in my truck to give out, but unsure if that gives off a “free candy!” vibe.
