When I put a piece of cardboard in the glowforge the design shows 4 squares but only cuts 3. It does not show the bottom right hand corner square to cut.
Check that the square not being cut is colored once you set the settings. If it isn’t, it is outside of the cutting area.
Alternatively, you have two squares overlaying and this cancels out the design. Overlying paths are ignored.

That does not apply to cuts or scores, only to vector engraves.
