I recall that South Miami Beach at one time hosted the largest population of Holocaust survivors in such numbers that several were dying virtually every day and The Miami Herald sent a reporter to ride with the Emergency crews and the gallows humor was a big part of the reporters “This person is not only dead but has a nasty hernia as well” being the line that has stuck with me,
