The idea of parametric objects in SketchUp is called Dynamic Components (also see here).
If you’re using the Maker build with the 30-day free trial, it’s already enabled as part of the Pro trial.
Edit: A perk is that if someone creates Dynamic Components for you, you can still use those Components with the free Maker edition. You just cannot create new formulas and functions on Components if you revert down to Maker edition.
