Old/new idea

Hey can we please make the material height warning just a warning and not a “print failed” sort of situation? The only time it should immediately stop me is if the height is likely to get hit by the head, so 0.5" plus.

I don’t need you to tell me my material isn’t in range, I know it isn’t. It has a big hole already in the middle. This should work without giving my any guff, and it definitely shouldn’t stop me outright.

(and yes I already found a workaround, but this is silly.)

On a related note, can we also get the machine to stop “focusing” before (and after) a print when I have set material thickness and focus height manually?

That would seem to solve the issue above as well.

Thank you both for these feature suggestions. We haven’t announced anything like this yet, but I’m going to send these ideas to our product team and let them know that the thoughts came from Glowforge owners.

I’m going to close this thread. If you run into trouble, or have other questions, please post a new topic here on the forum or email us at support@glowforge.com and we’ll be happy to help!
